About GoodCat

A one-person software company with a long runway: games, software products, and the tools in between.

I founded GoodCat LLC in 2026 to give my side projects a proper home: a place to build things carefully, ship them, and keep them running. Some of them are games headed to Steam. Some are SaaS products. Some are small tools that started as an itch and turned out to be useful to other people too.

Why “GoodCat”?

Mostly, it's the cats. I share my home with several of them, and I love them dearly. When it came time to turn a lifelong passion for software into something official, naming it after them wasn't really a decision. It was the first thought, and it never left.

(They also supervise. Closely.)

Who's behind it

I'm StevenPG, a senior software engineer in the aerospace industry. My day job is in systems where “it mostly works” isn't an option, and that mindset comes along to every GoodCat project: clear requirements, real tests, solid infrastructure, and no shortcuts that would make a future maintainer sad.

I write longer pieces on Java, Python, Go, DevOps, and the process behind these projects on my personal blog at stevenpg.com.

What I make

  • Games: original PC titles, built for Steam.
  • SaaS: hosted products that solve one problem well and charge fairly for it.
  • Tools & Utilities: small, sharp apps for everyday work.
  • Labs: experiments, prototypes, and open-source work done in public.
